Oxford United have received confirmation that the Secretary of State has decided not to call in the Club’s new stadium planning application, meaning the scheme will now be determined locally by Cherwell District Council.
This follows the Council’s Planning Committee approval in August and marks another major milestone in delivering the Club’s vision for a new 16,000-capacity stadium north of the city.
At fabrik, we’re proud to have led the landscape planning and design, shaping a framework that delivers multifunctional public realm and community green spaces, all sensitively designed with and around nature.
Huge thanks to an outstanding design and client team:
- AFL Architects
- Mott MacDonald – winning awards for the stadium’s all-electric credentials
- Ridge
- Ecology Solutions
- Aspect Arboriculture
- And of course, Oxford United FC.
We can’t wait to move into the next stage of this landmark project, one that will set new standards for sustainable sports infrastructure in the UK.
