Joe Williams
Joe has qualifications in both urban design and architecture, and has extensive experience delivering urban strategies and masterplans as part of a multidisciplinary team. He has worked on a variety of projects, including sustainable urban extensions, estate regeneration, inner city waterfront redevelopments and town centre strategies. Joe has experience working within complex socio-economic contexts and assisted in the creation of a grassroots business association for the Old Kent Road, enabling local business proprietors to have a collective voice and a stake in the future regeneration of their neighbourhood. He is a passionate advocate of meaningful community engagement, having worked with residents throughout a two-year co-design process on the Carpenters Estate in Stratford. Joe has a mature understanding of the need for towns and cities to protect and enhance the identities and characteristics of their neighbourhoods and districts. As a result, he advocates the unparalleled contribution that high streets and mixed-use environments offer to creating an accessible, diverse and inclusive place, supporting a vibrant and resilient local economy.
